Have you always wanted to learn to play the harp?

For me, playing a musical instrument is one of life's true pleasures, and sharing my passion with others is what makes teaching so fun. My students have ranged in age from 5-85, and I have taught beginning, intermediate, and  advanced levels as well as prepared students for college auditions. Whether playing the harp is a lifelong dream or simply an enjoyable hobby, music lessons can provide a rewarding and enriching experience for all students.

If you are interested in taking harp lessons and would like more information, please take a look at my Frequently Asked Questions page. You can also view my Artist Bio for more information about my credentials and experience as a music teacher.

A Note to New Students: As of Summer 2018, my teaching studio is full and I am not currently accepting new students. I would love to work with you in the future, but right now I have reached my maximum enrollment and do not have enough space in my schedule to accommodate more people at this time. However, you may request to be added to my waiting list and I will contact you as openings become available. Thank you for understanding.

Dear Kate, We just want to let you know how much we appreciate the kindness and patience you've shown A. the past few years. Listening to her practice the harp and get better and better has been fun!

WOW!!! I felt like a kid at Disneyland for the first time! First of all, Kate is a delight, so pleasant to be around and a great teacher. It was my first Harp lesson, a dream I've wanted to do for a long time but thought was out of reach for me. I totally didn't expect to do much with the Harp on my first visit, but she had me sit down with it right away and I learned so much in just one lesson. I can't imagine how good I could get as my lessons go on! Just in that time, I played "twinkle twinkle little star", and a Glissando waltz!! I highly recommend Kate!

Dear Kate, Thank you so much for your patience and kind words. You are a fine teacher and have taught me a great deal! I look forward to my lessons - I always leave with at least one idea to work on that is new to me. Thank you for everything!
Eleanor, adult student and music teacher

Hi Kate, it was a great concert/recital this past weekend and we really enjoyed it! Thank you for all the time and dedication you give to your students. I know E. considers you a friend and teacher and has really enjoyed and benefitted greatly from your teaching. You are really a 'First Class Awesome Teacher' and I know E. thinks the world of you.

I've truly enjoyed our time together. You taught me what a beautiful instrument the harp truly is and I will never forget that. This chapter of my life is coming to an end and I want you to know you've been an integral part of it.

Dear Mrs. Kate, thank you so much for being the best harp teacher on Earth! I love playing harp, and thanks to you I can play piano because they have the same staff you taught me. Every two weeks, I am very excited for Wednesday to come. You are the nicest person I know!

Dear Kate, words cannot express how grateful I am that you have been a part of my life these past three years as a teacher, friend, and inspiration.  I love playing the harp and that is all because of you- I cannot thank you enough for all you have taught me.  Our lessons were always my favorite part of the week and I know I will always treasure them.  Thank you for teaching me with such kindness, patience, and encouragement.  I am forever grateful and honored to have had you as my harp teacher.

Dear Kate, On behalf of all of us at Boys & Girls Club, Bressi Ranch, I wanted to express my sincere thanks and gratitude for the many weeks of harp lessons you provided to our club members at the Museum of Making Music. We enjoyed coming to the museum each Monday to participate in your lesson program. It was both rewarding and educational for all involved. I also wanted to say how wonderful it was to hear you play-that was truly an amazing and moving performance. Thanks again.
