FAQ: Rates & Policies

How much do you charge?

For a customized quote for your event, please contact me by phone or email. The quote you receive is all-inclusive and covers transportation and equipment portage to and from the venue. Additionally, you have the option of scheduling a complimentary consultation to meet with me at my studios in San Diego and Los Angeles Counties to hear me play in person and select music for your event before signing a contract.

I charge extra for the following services:

  • Amplification: I will provide my own equipment, which includes pick-up, mixer, amplifier, and all connecting cables, for an additional $50 (please see the Technical Stuff page to determine whether or not you will need amplification).
  • Rehearsal: If you would like me to play with another musician, I require a rehearsal ahead of time to make sure the music you choose is well-prepared for your event. I charge $100 per hour for rehearsals at my house (an additional portage charge will be added if you would like me to rehearse at another location).

How do I book your services? What are your payment requirements?

Once I have the all of the details of your event (date, time, and location), I will mail two copies of the contract to you. One copy is for your records; the other must be signed and mailed back to me.

I require a 50% booking deposit along with the contract to reserve the date. This guarantees my availability for the date and time you have specified, and is non-refundable. If I have not received the signed contract and deposit within two weeks of mailing it out, I will assume you are no longer interested in hiring me and will reopen the date.

For weddings, the remaining balance is due two weeks before, at which time we will also finalize the music selection and review any other details. For all other events, the remaining balance is due on the date of the event. I recommend booking early for weddings and holiday parties since I receive requests up to a year in advance.

Do you have liability insurance?

Yes. If your venue requires liability insurance, please ask me about obtaining a quote for a single-event insurance policy. Complete coverage for most events typically starts at $160, but may vary depending on the type of event and coverage required.

What do you wear for events?

For formal weddings and concerts, I typically wear a long concert gown (usually black for weddings unless specified). For more casual weddings and events, I generally wear a tea-length dress or skirt and top. If you would like me to match the colors of your wedding party, please let me know and I will do my best to coordinate my attire.
